The Trainers at CrossFit Batteraof are committed to give you the best personal guidance. We will provide you the coaching needed to perform all the CrossFit movements safely and effectively. We will carefully instruct and monitor you going through the movements. But we will also encourage you to try new things, get out of your comfort zone and break PR's.

Fitness grew into more than a passion and next to working as an User Experience Manager for big corporates I started teaching Les Mills classes and became a B-kick instructor.

Obstacle and mud runs were my passion until I discovered CrossFit.

I'm continuously looking for the learning curve in sports; get faster, get better, get stronger..

After 30 years of participating in random sports like coaching woman soccer teams, judo, fitness, soccer, krav maga, futsal, B-kick, Bootcamp, obstacle runs, there was CrossFit..

My passions; coaching, sports, Marjan and owning a business, finally combined. YES!

Hey everyone!  I'm Betsy and I'm addicted to CrossFit.  :)

About me:
- I'm originally from Dayton, Ohio (USA), but I've lived all over the US (Ohio, Colorado, Florida, and Georgia)
- I'm a Logistics Officer in the US Air Force and am currently stationed at the NATO Joint Forces Command Headquarters in Brunssum. I absolutely love my job and the people I get to serve with.
- I moved to Maastricht in October 2016 and will be here until June/July 2019...who knows where I'll end up next.
- I was a swimmer for 14 years and competed at the collegiate level.

My CrossFit Story:
I started CrossFit in September 2012 at CrossFit Body Mechanic in Tampa, Florida.  While at CFBM, I was a member of the Competition Team and placed in the top 10 at several local competitions.  In October 2014, I moved to Warner Robins, Georgia and started training ad coaching at Praetorian CrossFit.  I took a break from competing and focused more on coaching while I rehabilitated a major shoulder injury.  I briefly came out of retirement to compete at a local competition, Box Wars, where my partner and I placed FIRST in Women's RX.  I've since gone back into retirement and have no intention of competing again.  I also trained at CrossFit 1394 in Kabul, Afghanistan for 7 months while deployed to Headquarters Resolute Support.

I received my CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate in October 2013 and hope to get my Level 2 Trainer certificate later this year.

Why I Became a Batteraof Back-up Babe
One of my favourite things about coaching is helping athletes do things they never thought they could do.  We all start somewhere and it inspires me to see someone do things they thought were impossible.

If you really want to know more about me, check out the documentary "Functional Fitness" on Netflix!

Let me introduce myself, I am Christophe aka Xophe! I am a proud Batteraof since January 2015 and just been Batteraoffed a bit more as back-up babe.

On a personal note:
· Residence: Maaseik, Belgium
· Date of Birth: some time when Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were leading the charts, singing “I Love Rock ‘n Roll”
· Work: I am a constructional engineer, have a great passion for sewage technology and water treatment. So in 2012 I founded Cofrax. At Cofrax we specialise in all things concerning sewage and water. For now we mainly work in Belgium, but somewhere this year we also hope to cross some borders…
· Sport: this has always been a big part of my life. I spent most of my youth on a tennis court, in college I also did a lot of skeelering and cycling. You could also find me at the local gym, chasing “tha pump”.
· CrossFit: My fascination started late 2013, after seeing a youtube video of Chris Spealler and Heather Bergeron. So you can imagine my excitement when Marjan and Richard opened up Batteroaf! Ever since then I have tried to work hard in – and outside of the box to become a better person and athlete.

Backing up @ Batteroaf:
I am thankful for the opportunity to now share the (little) knowledge I have and passion with you guys. I have a thirst for knowledge if I am passionate about something, so I followed the L1-course as well as some other courses. Other than the courses I followed, I don’t really have any coaching experience. I can only promise to give my all when I am in front of a class and try to infect you with some of my energy while we all work to be better than yesterday.

Most nights you can find me at the box, so if there’s anything else you want to know à holla at me!
